Along the eastern routes there are over 2000 miles of coastline which stretch from the tip of Florida to the top of Maine. To the west, one finds well over 1500 miles of Pacific coastline stretching from California to Washington State. Along the southern routes, from Florida to California, one travels across more than 2700 miles of coast line.
Here, our intent is to touch on just a few of the spots you might say are the more common destinations along those routes. We have no intention of being comprehensive. We'll leave that to those who are crazy enough to think such an undertaking is possible. But let's face it. It's not. You can mention the better known watering holes, but the adventurous amongst you will know no one has a chance of mentioning all the places worth a visiting along the majestic and awesome coastline of the USA.
So what you have here is just a smattering of places, the well known ones, and the ones that have some paper trail. Those seeking a normal vacation will find many of these locations well endowed. Those seeking the greater adventure can use them as base camps and watering holes along the way towards ... the big adventure.
The lodgings listed below are not paid "advertising" listings. The same for the restaurant listings. We have listed them, because we think they are noteworthy. Most of them tend to be higher end, non-bargains, so if you are looking for budget bargains, this list is probably not for you. We do some list some bargains, but the focus is certain not in that direction.
