Cheap Seats - FASTASTIC SAVINGS (if you plan ahead and
keep trying)
Our experience with 1-800 Cheap Seats has been best when talking
with
them on the phone. Believe it or not, the employees really
enjoy saving you
money on your flights, and many will really try hard to find
you a bargin on
the destination you headed for. Savings, no matter what site
you check for
bargins on, are all based upon one thing AVAILABILITY. In
a matter of hours,
a ticket can go up in price by hundreds of dollars. You just
have to be lucky
enough to call at the right time OR have the intelligence
to plan ahead, OR
refuse to give up, and keep trying to find another flight.
Notes on extending your stay in a far away lands.
Don't call 1-800 Cheap Seats to EXTEND your stay. It's best
to do
this at a good and trust worthy travel agent located wherever
you
are attempting to extend your stay. They will usually charge
you
a small fee, say 25 Euro, plus a FIXED fee for the extension.
In our case, we first tried to extend our stay with 1-800
Cheap Seats
when recently in Dublin. The fee, we were told, would be the
difference
in the current fare prices PLUS $200 (which is fixed fee for
changing
the date of departure). That would have made each ticket an
additional
$700 because the difference in the flight cost (due to availability
was
now $500 more). We went to a local travel agent, who charged
us
25 Euro to get involved, and changed the ticket for ONLY the
fixed
fee charge, namely $200. In other words, we saved money by
not
going back to 1-800 Cheap Seats to change the ticket.
Were we unhappy with 1-800-Cheap Seats? No, they saved us
over
$1100 per round trip ticket to Dublin. So how could we hold
a grudge?
We just don't recommend that you use them to EXTEND your stay.
