Quaker Bonnet recipes

Recipes for People with Diabetes.
We will be enlarging our recipes from the web, however, we can't recommend any particular site over any other, because people react differently to foods depending upon the type of diabetes, the condition, the treatments, and the exercise programs.

Also, remember that carbohydrates can create a higher sugar level than many sweet foods. A big bowl of pasta can be a bigger threat than a large apple. You've got to be careful and know what you are doing. So just because you are using low sugar or no sugar, or fake sugar in your muffins doesn't mean you can eat a half dozen of them without raising your blood sugar to high sugar levels. If you see some recipes that contain a potatoes or corn, or white rice and/or white flour, proceed with great caution. Whatever you do, limit your consumption to small quantities any high carbohydrate food.

You may not like your doctor, or may not necessarily trust his long term advice to you, but you still need on physician to check your blood, including more complete tests than a simple blood meter can provide. Your doctor's advice may not be the best possible advice, but it's still important to get some objective medical assessments of your condition and of what your diet should be.

Make certain you check your own sugar levels when trying any new recipes. It's best to find out how your own body is reacting to these new foods. And remember that your reaction to foods change over time. If you have recently lost weight, your body may be more tolerant of some foods it couldn't tolerate previously. However, if you have recently gained some weight, your reaction to foods may suddenly be more severe! Measure your blood sugar levels on a regular basis. If your blood sugar meter is no longer working or needs batteries, get it attended to immediately.

Finally, the fact that we have listed some sites with recipes for diabetics does not mean we endorse the recipes for you. Remember that just because a favorite type of food can be found in a list of recipes for diabetics doesn't make that food safe for you to eat. Even though you are a diabetic, your condition is going to be different than the next person (with diabetes). You've got to be smart about this if you want to keep your disease in check.
