Biking (as in bicycles)
There are bike paths. Use them. Most vacationers are so lazy they won't take the time to travel 2 minutes out of the way to get on a bike path. They forget that the roads are very curvy, and tourists that are breaking-in their hot new Land Rovers and other V6-V8 SUVs are driving those curves without a single thought about what is just beyond the bend. Life is short, but it doesn't have to be that short!

Also, wear a helmet. Just because some other fruitcake isn't smart enough to put on protective gear, doesn't mean it's not the smart thing to do. Don't let your kids go without. Be smart.

Finally, don't rent mopeds. During the season, there is at least one accident per day, and sometimes more. Rolling over in the sand or on gravel may not take your life, but almost certainly it will wreck your vacation. It's just not worth it.

Mopeds aren't cheap to rent. If there are two of you, and you wish to rent two mopeds, combine the rental fee, and  rent a car instead. And while you're driving around in your car, remember to watch out for all those people on bicycles who aren't smart enough to ride on the bike paths!
